The Water Environment Association of Texas (WEAT) is an open association of water environment professionals, practitioners, operations specialists, and public officials with a broad range of expertise working together to:

  • Meet the needs of its members for professional growth and development
  • Educate the public on water environment issues
  • Benefit society through protection and enhancement of the water environment

The WEAT North Texas Section (WEAT-NTS), established in 1983, consists of over 500 members from the North Texas area. We support the Operations Challenge teams, the WEAT-NTS scholarship program, the Daryl Hall scholarship, the Dallas and Fort Worth Science Fairs, UTA events, and the Young Professionals group of WEAT-NTS.

Texas Legislative Session Update
Thursday, March 4, 2021
11:30 AM to 1:00 PM

Julie Nahrgang, Executive Director of WEAT and TACWA, will discuss the current legislative session including the tenor of committee meetings and bill filings during a pandemic. She will provide an overview of important water bills tracked by WEAT and TACWA while also providing background on the origins of bills as well as practical implications for stakeholders in the water quality sector in Texas. Sporting Clays Registration Now Closed!

The 12th Annual WEAT-NTS Sporting Clays Event will be filled with food, fun, and good old-fashioned competition between friends. Proceeds benefit the WEAT-NTS Scholarship Fund. See flyer for details.

Registration Deadline: February 21 for Deluxe Packages and early registration discounts; February 26 final pre-registration. On-site registration will only be accepted if space is available.


In Memory of Wen-Jo “Walter” Chiang 1943-2020

It is with a very heavy heart that we pass along the news of Walter Chiang’s passing away on Friday, August 7, 2020.

Walter Chiang radiated warmth and kindness. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. Representatives with CP&Y and WEAT leaders have established the Walter Chiang Memorial Scholarship Endowment through the WEAT Scholarship Fund.

Online Event Registration Payments, and Merchandise

WEAT-NTS uses the Square Up system for online registration and payments. You can use the online system to register and pay for any of our events (dinner meetings, sporting clays tournament, February Seminar, sponsorships, etc.). To access the Square Up system, click on the logo (above), add the event or sponsorship (or both) to your cart, and then go to the checkout to finish paying. The WEAT-NTS treasurer will receive a copy of your registration and payment for their records.
