WEAT Clean-Up Events

WEAT Clean-Up provides opportunities for members to give back to our community by participating in organized clean-up events. WEAT-NTS usually organizes at least two events per year in collaboration with other local organizations. All cleanup events support the NTS entry in the WEAT Clean Shores Challenge (see below).

About the Texas Clean Shores Challenge

WHAT IS THE TEXAS CLEAN SHORES CHALLENGE?
A friendly competition between WEAT sections (joint sections and student chapters included) while providing a positive impact locally. Cleanup challenge events are a great way to promote local environmental awareness, jump-start activities in your local WEAT section, and have fun while enhancing your local community.

WHO COORDINATES THE CHALLENGE EVENTS?
Volunteers from the local section/student chapter is needed to plan, organize, coordinate and lead the event. You can piggy back with other community cleanup efforts or you can host your own event.

HOW DO YOU ENTER?
Submit the information to Clean Shores Challenge’s Chair – Elle Frier at elle.frier@freese.com for judging using the submission forms. You can submit for more than one event. Submission deadline for the 2021 challenge TBD.

WHEN DOES THE RIVER CHALLENGE TAKE PLACE?
The challenge event is on your schedule! Entries will be judged based on challenge event(s) occurring between April 1 to December 31 each year.
